Given - Required amount of sugar

Find - Amount of sugar required

Solution - Amount of sugar required in another recipe = 2*1/16

Amount of sugar required = 1/8 cup

Excess amount =  \frac{1}{2}  -  \frac{1}{8}

Taking LCM, we get 8

Excess amount =  \frac{(1 \times 4) - 1}{8}

Excess amount =  \frac{4 - 1}{8}

Excess amount =  \frac{ 3 }{8}

Hence, 3/8 cup excess sugar is required.
