Informal letter usually written to parents(when you are away from them),relatives, friends etc which do not serve any official purpose.
First then address of recipient is required. Date and place of sender can also be included after that.
If the recipient is close to you than can use dear(priyapetta, ente swantham) or else use hi(namaskaram).
Formal letters are divided in to 3 parts - Introduction or know how, body main content and tail end.
Introduction is just asking the know how of the recipient like how are you, how is your family(Sugam anno?, Ellavarakum sugam anoo? etc).Body main content can be one paragraph or can be divided in to many. In this area the main purpose of the letter is written(Enikku fees adakkam kurachu cash vennam, account details follows. or Njan Hyderabad kannan varunundu avide tourist places kurichu details tharammo etc).
Tail end conclusion can be anything like hoping to see you or send me money ASAP(vegam kannan ennu vishosikunnu or ethrayum pettannu cash ayaakko).
Sender name like lots of love or with regards(snehathode or ethayum priyapetta)
