Solution,

We can easily solve this mathematical problem by norrmal arithmetic method.

1 man can dig 4m trench in = 1 day

1 man can dig 1m trench in = 1/4 day

1 man can dig 16m trench in = 16/4 = 4 days

2 men can dig 16m trench in = 4/2 = 2 days

(Division and multiplication are done according to the direct or inverse proportion.)

Hence, it will take 2 days (option B).
