Solution:

Let, the smaller number be, 'n'.

∴ The greater number = (n+6)

7 times of the smaller number = (n×7)

                                                 = 7n

6 times of the greater number = (n+6)×6

                                                  = 6n+36

∴ According to the problem:

6n+36 = 7n

⇒ 7n = 6n + 36

⇒ 7n - 6n = 36

⇒ n = 36.

∴ The smaller number is 36.

∴ The greater number is = (36+6)

                                        = 42.
