The error is, the sentence must have the usage of plural of friend, i.e. friends.

The reason behind this is the narrator is mentioning a friend out of many friends he or she has.

Also, the comma is used unnecessarily in the sentence.

Therefore, the correct sentence with proper usage of plural of friend and punctuation marks is; One of my friends is leaving the school.
