let one side = x

=> 4 cm more than 2x => 2x+4

=> x(2x+4)=80

=> x(x+2)=40

=> x² + 2x - 40 = 0

=> x = -2 ± √(2²+4*40) / 2

=> x = (-2 ± √1+40)

=> x = -2 ± √41

=> x = -2 ± 6.4

=> x = -2 + 6.4 or -2-6.4

=> x = 4.4 or -8.4

but length not in negative.

so that x =4.4

=> second length = 2*4.4 + 4 = 8.8+4 = 12.8

Answer:

x(x + 2) = 80 \times 2x - 80 = 0x \\  = 2 - 2 +  - 4 + 4(80)x  = 1 +  - 81x =  - 1 +  - 9x = 8or - 10 \:  \\ but \: length \: this \: not  - ve \: sides \: are \: 8 \:  and \: 20 \: and \: 429
