Units are ignored in calculation.

Answer:

20 km/hr

Explanation:

Using Pythagoras theorem,

Let the remaining component be a.

⇒ a^2 + 15^2 = 25^2

⇒ a^2 + 125 = 625

⇒ a^2 = 625 - 125

⇒ a^2 = 400

⇒ a = 20

  Other component is 20 km/hr.

GiveN :--

One of the components of velocity 25 km/h is 15 km/h.

TO DeterminE :--

The other component.

AcknowledgemenT :-

A vector is divided into 2 components. Component with angle θ becomes cosθ and the component with angle (90° - θ) becomes sinθ.

AnsweR :-

Let the required component be x.

By applying Pythagoras theorem,

(25)² = (15)² + (x)²

⇒625 = 225 + x²

⇒x² = 625 - 225

⇒ = 400

⇒x = √400

⇒x = 20 km/h
