One of the rectangular components of a force of 50N is 25N. Find the angle it makes with this component and magnitude of other component. 【This is an IIT JEE question】. Can anyone take the indicative to solve it.

One of the rectangular components of a force of 50N is 25N.

To Find,

The angle it makes with this component and the magnitude of the other component.

Solution,

Let the given component be the horizontal component of force.

So,

F horizontal = F * cosθ

25 = 50 * cosθ

cos θ = 25/50 = 1/2

θ = 60°

Now,

Magnitude of other component = F * sinθ

F' = 50 * sin60

F' = 50*√3/2

F' = 25√3 N

Hence, the angle made by the force with its given component is 60° and the magnitude of the other component is 25√3 N.
