p(x) = 2x² + 7x - 4

==> 2x² + 8x - x - 4 = 0

==> 2x(x + 4) - 1(x + 4) = 0

==> (x + 4)(2x - 1) = 0

x = -4, 1/2

Hence, Option (b) is correct.

Answer:

2 {x}^{2}  + 7x - 4  = 0\\ 2 {x}^{2}  + 8x - x - 1  = 0\\ 2x(x + 4) - 1(x + 4) \\ (x + 4)(2x - 1) = 0 \\ x =  - 4 \: and \:  \frac{1}{2}  \\ so \: option \: (b) \: is \: the \: right \: ans

Hope its help uh
