Step-by-step explanation:

A to B =x

A to C=y

3x+y=405 - I

2x+3y=620 -II

by elimination method

3(3x + y = 405)

2x + 3y=625

9x +3y =1215

2x +3y =625

- - -

___________

7x = 595

x = 85

substitute x value in II

2×85+3y=620

3y=620-170

3y=450

y=150

A to B= 85

A to C =150

total:

fare for A to B= 2x + 3x=5x

= 5 × 85 =425

A to C =y + 3y= 4y

=4 × 150 =600
