Let, price of one samosa be x,

and price of one puff be y,

by question,

x+2y=14_equation1,

3x+y=17_equation2,

multiplying equation 1by3and subtracting equation 2from equation 1

3x+6y=42

3x+y=17

the result is 5y=25

y=5 (putting in equation 2)

x=4

now,cost of 5samosa and 5 puffs =5*4+5*5=20+25=Rs.45
