let person 1 be x and person 2 be y.
So by the first equation,
x + 100 = 2(y-100) because you subtracted 100 from y and gave it to x.
The second equation becomes
y + 10 = 6(x-10) by the same logic. And since person 2 is talking, we interchange x and y.
So by using the 2 equations and computing x and y (elimination or substitution)
x = 40, y = 170
