Explanation:

There are two methods to achieve something important in life.

The first method to achieve it by hard work, long struggle, suffering pain, facing humiliation and repeated failure.

The second method to achieve it by using your connection with successful people.

Almost every person wants to be successful in life, but there are very few who are willing to pay the huge price that is necessary for achieving success.

Most people are looking for shortcuts of success so that they can be successful without paying price for it.

Hence, when a person become successful, many people including their family members, friends and relatives want to exploit his/her success for their personal gain.

For example, if a person after years of hard work and struggle becomes a successful entrepreneur or a top government official,

Their family wants them to earn good (including illegal) money to make their life better .

Their friends want them to use their influence to get their work done.

Their relatives want them to use their influence to get them jobs or provide them jobs in their company.

Even ordinary people want them to give money for their start-ups, recommend their cases to higher ups or give them benefits using their influence.

These things happen with most successful people.

Interestingly, most of them actually ridiculed these now successful people when they were struggling in their lives.

Now when they have become successful, everyone wants their pound of flesh.

Moreover, most of these demands are not only illegal, but also unethical.

It is also impossible to fulfill the aspirations of all such people since once you help one person, there are many who would seek the same favour for themselves also almost as a matter of right.

Hence, most successful people start avoiding such people or refuse to fulfill their demands.

However, most people instead of finding fault in their own changed behaviour, blame the person for being arrogant due to success.

It is also true that for in case of some people, success goes in their head and they start treating others as dirt when they achieve success.

However, if you have stood up with the successful people in their difficult times, and you don’t try to use them for personal gain, most of them would continue to behave normally with you even after achieving success.
