other side = 2x-3 ft
Equation
x(2x-3)= 209 ft^2
2x^2-3x-209=0
after factorising above equation we get
2x^2-22x+19x-209
(2x^2-22x) + (19x-209)
2x(x-11) +19(x-11)
(2x+19)(x-11)=0
2x+19=0
2x= -19
x= -19/2
x-11=0
x=11
the side can never be negative
so,
the first side=11ft
other side = 2×11-3=19 ft
