Solution :

Refer the attached figure

AB = 40 m

In ΔABC

Hypotenuse^2=Perpendicular^2+Base^2

AC^2=AB^2+BC^2

50^2=40^2+BC^2

2500=1600+BC^2

2500-1600=BC^2

\sqrt{2500-1600}=BC

\sqrt{900}=BC

30=BC

Length of rectangle = 40 m

Width of rectangle = 30 m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(L+B)

                                      = 2(40+30)

                                      = 140

Hence the perimeter of rectangle is 140 m .
