Diffusion is the process of mixing 2 particles due to their intermolecular space.

Active transport helps in generous supply of food water and minerals to various parts of plant.

Active transport requires energy from the cell to be put to use to absorb nutrients from the soil...

But ..

Diffusion does not require energy from the cell and the solute just travels in the solvent from a higher conc. to a lower conc.
