Answe

Given one side is 20cm

Corresponding side is 12cm

Therefore area of parallelogram=1/2×20×12

=10×12=120cm

Again area og parallelogram =1/2 base× altitude

120=1/2×base× 10

=120=5×base

=base=24cm

Given:

One side of the parallelogram is 20cm and the corresponding altitude is 12 cm

To Find:

find the length of the adjacent side of the parallelogram if the height of the altitude to the adjacent side is 10 cm

Solution:

Side of parallelogram = 20 cm

Height corresponding to 20 cm base = 12 cm

Area of parallelogram = 20 \times 12 =240 cm^2

Let the  length of the adjacent side of the parallelogram be x

The height of the altitude to the adjacent side is 10 cm

So, Area of parallelogram =10x

So, 10x=240

x=24

Hence the length of the adjacent side of the parallelogram is 24 cm
