12
Time taken by first tap = 20 min
Hence in 1 min 1/20 of the work is done
Similarly in 1 min for tap 2 , 1/12 of the work will be done.
When both tanks are open together , then in one min 1/12 + 1/20 of the work is done.
Hence 1/15 of work is done in one min.

Hence total time taken is 15 min

So time taken to fill the bucket is 15 min when both taps are open.

gautam95: what is the butterfly mode
gautam95: where does u live and in which school are u
Xosmos: I live in chennai , psbb school
Xosmos: Check the butterfly method in you tube
gautam95: ok
gautam95: I don't understand
Xosmos: Then use normal lcm method
gautam95: but then the LCM is 60 bro
Xosmos: Yes , if you do like that , you would get same as

I think in 16 minutes as only one tank should be filled . as both taps r turned on at a time half of the time of each taps should be calculated
if tap fills tank in 20 minutes it takes 10 minutes to fill half tank and if another tap fills the tank in 12 minutes it can fill half tank in 6 minutes
So if half half tanks fill in 10 and 6 minutes the whole tank will be filled in 16 minutes

if u feel this is right and useful mark it as brainliest answer

Xosmos: Sorry , but it is wrong
varshari: can u pl tell how is my answer wrong i just want to correct myself pl tell me
Xosmos: It is not necessary that one tap fills exactly half the amount in the tank
varshari: oh kk
varshari: tq
