It is quite true one thoughtless action can lead to never ending misery and hopelessness. That’s why the elders teach us to look before we leap and think before we speak. In the poem The Rime of The Ancient Mariner by S.T. Coleridge, we find the ancient mariner suffering lots of pain on account of his one thoughtless action of killing the albatross.

His fellow crewmen held him responsible for all the troubles they faced and punished him by hanging dead albatross round his neck. It might be the entire crew faced all the troubles because of the death of the albatross. And ancient mariner had brought them bad luck by killing the albatross thoughtlessly.

Nobody will disagree that one thoughtless action can lead to a prolonged misery and matter of hopelessness.

That’s why the elder people teach us to become cautious before taking any risk. There is a  proverb  “look before we leap “ which is very true. In the poem, The Rime of The Ancient Mariner penned by  S.T. Coleridge, we come to know the ancient mariner suffered lots of pain on account of his one unwise action of killing the albatross.

His fellow crewmen held him responsible for all the pains they faced and punished him by hanging dead seabird across his neck. It might be the entire crew faced all the troubles because of the death of the bird. And ancient mariner had caused all bad luck by killing the albatross meaninglessly.
