The XY chromosomes of father determine whether the child is male or female.So she can't be blamed because the child is a girl.

Well... first of all she should be made understand that its not her "fault"(giving birth to a girl child according to so called indian society)..
She should be taught that the sex chromosome carried by her partner's sperm is responsible for the birth of the baby girl....
