x=number of pupil collected.
y=money collected.

no.of pupil reduced bcause 10 of them failed to join them so (x-10).

amount of money increase because 5 rupees is added by everyone so (y+5)

PradnyaDeul: And y = amount collected from each then xy=1000 in second case no of pupil decrease by 10 (x-10) and amount increase by 5 so, (y+5) (x-10)(y+5)=1000 by solving this we get x=2y+10 putting in first eqn we get y2+5y-500=0 solving this we get y=-25 or 20 as -ve value is not possible y=20 and x=2(20)+10=50
