1- The Suez Canal is a man-made waterway  connecting the Mediterranean Sea to  the Indian Ocean via the Red Sea.

2-  It enables a more direct and short route for importing and exporting between Europe  and Asia, effectively allowing for passage of ships.

3-  Since the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869, India’s distance from Europe  has been reduced by 7,000 km, which saves a lot of fuel.

4- It also prevents extra storage of resources, workers, sailors, etc.
