Operation Bluestar was aimed at neutralising militant Sikh preacher Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale and his band of armed supporters ensconced in the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar. It's been 37 years since the Indian Army conducted an operation to flush out militants from the Golden Temple in Amritsar, in June, 1984.
