Opposition has a great role in democracy as it is responsible to make the functioning of central governement to be in limits and work properly.It opposes them wherever they are guilty and found to be wrong.

The party or parties which fail to form the govt, constitute the opposition and perform the most important function of criticism of the working of govt, its policies and its failures.They check the govt from assuming dictorial powers.the opposition party moves different motions such as the adjournment and no -confidence motion in the Legislature.Even outside the Legislature, it continues to make an organised criticism of the ruling govt.The function of the opposition is said to be to oppse, to expose and to depose.In this way, they aim at ensuring good governance in the country
