⚫ Important features of the Brahmaputra river system :

• The river Brahmaputra rises in Tibet , east of the Mansarowar lake from the Chemayungdung glacier.

• It flows eastwards parallel to the Himalayas and on reaching Namcha Barwa (7757 m), it takes a sharp 'U' turn and enters India in Arunachal Pradesh through a gorge.
