Answer:

Hint: Given that, oranges are transferred from larger boxes to smaller boxes. After emptying a larger box, 3 smaller boxes are filled and 7 oranges are left. The number of oranges in a smaller box is assumed to be x. Find the sum of the number of oranges in three small boxes. Therefore the number of oranges in the larger box will be = total no. of oranges in all small boxes + 7.

Solution:

Number of oranges in one box = x

Number of boxes = 2

Therefore, the total number of oranges in boxes = 2x

Remaining oranges = 10

Thus, the number of oranges = 2x + 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Summary:

It is given that oranges are to be transferred from larger boxes into smaller boxes and when a large box is emptied, the oranges are filled into two smaller boxes and still 10 oranges remain outside. We have found that 2x + 10 will be the number of oranges filled in the larger box
