Answer:

1. HINDUSTAN

2. BHARAT

3. SINDHU

4.BHARATVARSHA

Explanation:

There are different names of India but most of us are familiar with the three names : India, Bharat and Hindustan. While googling and exploring I got to know some new facts about our country and I was literally astonished by the names. I had never even heard about that (may be because I was too weak in social or never thought of finding this out..ummm). Anyways I would love to share the divergent name of India with quorans and friends :

1)The ancient name of India was Aja Nabha Varsha. (Aja means Brahma. Nabha means central portion.Varsha means Country.) Hmmm.. I know this sounds little informative and after this I began remembering this three Consecutive words..!! So, keep this in mind.. :D

2)Bharata (Bha means light and knowledge. Rata means devoted to light as against darkness.) According to methodologies, the name Bharat is derived from king Bharat, the son of Dushyanta and Shakuntala. He was the legendary emperor and the founder of the bharat dynasty ancestor of the Pandavas and the kauravas in the Sanskrit epic Mahabharat. Sounds alike, my grandpa used to narrate me stories of bharat when I was too young and curious to know the original names of India.

3)People who lived on the bank of river Indus were called originally as Indu and later called Hindu and then the land came to be as Hindustan. We Indians often refer our country as Hindustan. A place of Hindus..!!

4)The name India was given by the British.

5)Aryavarta is another name. Well, the Aryans who were immigrated to our country and according to the source North India (Vindhyas) is also known as Aryavarta.

6)Jambudweep ( the shape of India resembles jamun fruit).. Lol, yess sounds cool..!! Its vedic name of India. (never thought of this again. :P)

7)”Tianzhu”which means spiritual center. It was the Chinese name during Tang Dynasty for ancient India. This was because of the Indian origin of Buddhism. (try to pronounce it as xien-t'juk) hmm… It's the historical East Asian name of India and which is itself derived from the Sanskrit Sindhu, the native name of Indus river.

8)Before the British and Muslims came to India. India was the wealthiest land in the ancient times and hence it was called as’ Sone ki chidiya’ in terms of land of spices, cotton, iron weapons, invented the coin system, barter system along with Economics, we were the traders, lands, export..
