Undoubtedly, Otises were quite different from other people who had occupied the Canterville Chase. What made them unique was their fearlessness, intrepidity, and scientific attitude. They looked at the world with the scientific outlook only. They were not ready to believe in the existence of ghosts. Even when they saw the ghost, they took him to be a natural and interesting phenomenon.The ghost had reigned the Chase for more than 300 years in which he had scared many people to death; some of them had lost their lives also because of him. However, he met his match in the Otis family. He could not scare any member of the Otis family. Instead he began to fear the twins who always played pranks on him. all his attempts to scare them proved futile.
