It is quite true our attitude to a situation determines everything, including our state of mind. Optimistic attitude brings us lasting happiness; on the contrary, negative attitude results in worry, tensions, and depression.

In the poem Dust of Snow, the poet’s mood was transformed by a nature. As he was enjoying an evening walk on a wintry evening, a crow inadvertently threw some snow on him while he was passing under a tree. This uplifted the poet’s mood which had been melancholy for some personal reason.

The poet took the falling of snow as healthy; if he had taken it negatively, he would have been further depressed.

So, it is better to look at the world through optimism than negativity.

Answer:Our attitude towards a situation has a huge effect on the outcome that comes from the situation, most people would argue that looking at a situation from a positive mind-set is a better option and makes us happier,I do agree with this but I also support a negative mind-set as a negative mind-set forces us to think more critically and criticize our decision which in the long run helps us in making better decisions. On the contrary having a negative outlook would make us more depressed and sorrowful unlike a positive outlook. This is why I think there should be a balance between negative and positive in our perspectives. We should have a positive attitude towards a situation but make sure to be a self critic as well.
