Total number of Slices = 8

Number of Slices handed to guests = 3

Number of Slices left = 8 - 3 = 5

Fraction of cake that is left = 5/8
 \frac{5}{8}

Thank you for asking this question. Here is your answer:

There are 8 slices in which the cake is cut and from them 3 are given away.

In order to find the number of slices which are left we will use this equation:

8 - 3

= 5

And now we will find the fraction of the cake which is left. Which is required in the question.

The equation will be made when we consider the slices left and also the original number of slices

it would look like this: 5/8

So the final answer for this question is 5/8
