Our society, contrasting attitudes are prevalent about many social problems. What contrasting attitudes do you notice about the caste system in our society? How do you explain the existence of these contrasting attitudes?

The Indian caste system has been in place for a long time. However, there are contrasting attitudes towards the system, for example, people are now easily interacting with others from diverse castes. Moreover the many people especially the youths from the upper castes are challenging the traditional ways of the caste system and religion is not stopping them either.

This contrast has been caused by issues of globalization that is bringing western influence into the Indian community hence replacing the old system with a more liberal one. Liberalism has also been a major cause of these contrasts.
