Most of the villages are full of tall trees some of which are fruit- bearing trees. You find coconut trees, mango trees, tamarind trees, need trees and plants full of different kinds of flowers.
In some villages a stream may run near your street and when you sleep in the open at night on a cot you get pleasant breeze.
Some landlords may own groves of coconut trees or mango trees. Youngsters and children may rest in the groves in the afternoon under the shade of the trees and pluck coconuts, husk them and drink the coconut water. It is all fun and enjoyment.

Our village is Meenambadi. It is surrounded by hills which are full of dense vegetation and tall trees. The climate in our village is pleasant. Even in summer it is cool. We go to our village when it is summer. We have a big house in our village. Around our house there is a big garden where all kinds of trees grow. We have tamarind trees, mango trees, plantain trees, jackfruit trees, plants which yield lady’s finger, baronial, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, capsicum, cluster-beans, drumstick, pumpkin, saber-bean and snake-gourd, and flowers like jasmine, yellow, white, red and roses, water-soldier etc. The plants are watered regularly trough a hosepipe. There is a gardener and he looks after the pretty garden, the pride of the village, very carefully. Gardener Merges is well-known in the village as a consultant for growing plants and trees. We sell the extra vegetables and flowers in the market. The vegetables and flowers bring us good income.
We have several acres of paddy fields, in our village. The yield from the fields is quite good. We sell many bags of paddy and rice which are surplus. This trading in paddy and rice gives us good income.
There are some canals and tanks in our village. It is a great pleasure to have a bath in them. We are very careful while swimming in the canals or tanks. Some expert swimmers guide young people while swimming. Unless there are good swimmers to guide the young person’s they do not go for swimming.
A visit to our village during summer is quite pleasant. In the afternoon we sit under the shady trees and talk of our experiences in our town and in our village.
