In asexual reproduction only single parent is involved and the offsprings are identical. It does not involve fusion of gametes. All cell divisions are mitotic or amitotic. It is a method of rapid multiplication. It is found in unicellular organisms and lower organisms like sponges and hydra.
In sexual reproduction two individuals are involved and offsprings are not identical.Gametes are formed. The gametes are produced by meiotic divisions which are haploid. As a result of fertilisation, a diploid zygote is formed.
Hope it'll help you.
