n(E)= 72
n(F)= 43
Soln:
n(U) = n(E) U n(F)
n(U) = n(E) + n(F)- n(EnF)
100 = 72 + 43 - n(EnF)
n(EnF)= 115- 100
= 15
Now,
n(E)=n(E) -n(EnF)
=72- 15= 57
And
n(F) = n(F)- n(EnF)
= 43-15= 28
Therefore, 57 people speak only english, 28 speak only french and 15 speak both.
