Cost of the horse is Rs. 331500.

  • Out of 13 cows one worth Rs. 26000 was removed and a horse as included.
  • Cost of one cow is Rs. 26000
  • Now cost of 13 cows = 13 × 26000 = 338000 Rs.
  • Average of 13 cows is Rs. 26000.
  • Now one cow was removed and one horse was included and the average price was increased by Rs. 1500.
  • 12 cows and one horse is included now.
  • Cost of 12 cows = 12 × 26000 = 312000 Rs.
  • Let the cost of horse be x.
  • Now new mean after including the horse

New mean = \frac{Cost \ of \ 12 \ cows + cost \ of \ horse}{13}

  • According to the condition,

Old mean + 1500 = \frac{26000 + x}{13}

26000 + 1500 = \frac{26000 + x}{13}

27500 × 13 = 26000 + x

357500 - 26000 = x

x =331500 Rs.

  • Cost of the horse is Rs. 331500
