the three reasons are-
1). to avoid the confusion of time across different sections of our country because many longitudes pass through our country and the time difference between Gujrat and arunachal Pradesh is 2 hours
2). as India is not as large as Russia, only one standard meridian is sufficient for the whole country (Russia has more than one standard meridian due to its large area)
3). as the longitude chosen as standard meridian passes through almost the middle of our country, it is perfect to be chosen as the standard meridian and we do not require more of it.
