Out of a group of swans ,7/2 times the squareroot of the no are playing on the shore of a tank .the two remaining ones are playing with amorpus fight in the water .what is the total no of swans?

The number of swans fighting in the water =2

Total no. of swans x=\frac{7}{2} \sqrt{x}+2                 ...............(1)

Put x=y^{2} in eq.(1)

We get    y^{2}-\frac{7}{2} y-2=0

               2y^{2}-7y-4=0\\2y^{2}-8y+y-4=0\\2y(y-4)+(y-4)=0\\(y-4)(2y+1)=0\\y=4

Therefore    x=y^{2}=(4)^{2}=16

Hence sixteen swans are present in the group.
