Given :  Out of a number of Saras birds, one-fourth the number are moving about in lotus plants, 6 times the square root of the number move on a hill and three times five remain in Vakula trees

To find : Total Number of Birds

Solution:

Let say  Saras Birds  = B

one-fourth the number = B/4

6 times the square root of the number   = 6√B

3/5  of Birds  = 3B/5

=> B  = B/4 + 3B/5  + 6√B

=> 20B = 5B  + 12B + 120√B

=> 3B  =  120√B

=> B  =  40√B

=> √B  = 40

=> B = 1600

Total Saras Birds  = 1600

Verification :

400  +  240 + 960 = 1600
