Let the pair of complementary angles be
x,90-x

Given,

A pair of complementary angles one is 2/7th of the other.

→x=(2/7)(90-x)

7x=180-2x

9x=180

x=20

Pair of complementary angles is 20°,70°

Let one angle be X°

Other angle = 2/7 of X

We know that,

Sum of two complementary angle = 90°

2/7 × X + X = 90°

2X/7 + X = 90°

2X + 7X = 90 × 7

9X = 90 × 7

X = 90° × 7 / 9

X = 10 × 7 = 70°

One angle = X° = 70°

And,

Other angle = 2/7 × X = 2/7 × 70° = 20°
