Water has a higher boiling point than hydrogen sulphide. The intermolecular attractions between water molecules are stronger than H2S molecules due to hydrogen bonding in H2O due to high electronegativity and small size of oxygen atom.

There is presence of intermolecular Hydrogen bonds in H20 which is not there in H2S.Hydrogen bond is morestrong than Van Der Waals Force(Present in H2S), so H20 is more stable.Duringboiling, one has to break the bonds and hence greater amount of energy is required in case of H20 since it is morestable and thus it ...
