out of the numbers n, n + 1 and n + 2, show that only one number is divisible by 3.

in every 3 consecutive numbers, there is a multiple of 3, because they turn up once in every 3 consecutive numbers.

so, since n, n+1, n+2 are consecutive, exactly 1 is divisible by 3.
