Tribes also revolted in various parts of the country against the British colonial government as the British expanded their power to tribal lands. Various extortions by the Brtitish took place among the tribes

- The British came to know about the importance of trees such as teak, deodar, and sal. Forests were destroyed on a large scale for the purpose of railway expansion.
