Overload: The process by which a certain e.appliance is provided with more e.current then the rating leading to damage to the appliance.

Short-circuit: the process where due to wear and tear the neutral and live wires of an appliance come in contact with each other leading to a great increase in potential difference and thus electric current also increases and hence these wires catch fire leading to the loss of man and material.

overloading is a condition in which the high current flows through the circuit and at the same time too many appliances are switched on then the total current drawn through the circuit may exceed its rated value.

and condition when the live wire comes in contact with the neutral wire due to which a high current flows in a circuit
