↖〽⤵Basically we can find the Oxidation number of any element in the compound by calculating with the Linear method .....
↖〽⤵So here for the compound Cynohydrine ......
↖〽⤵We know that the Oxidation number of the
⤵⤵H = +1
⤵⤵N = -3
↖〽⤵so calculating the oxidatio number of the carbon we get .....
⤵1 ×(1) + 1 × (-3) + X = 0
⤵⤵===========> thus we get .... X -3 +1 =0
there fore here .... X = +2
↖〽⤵So here the Oxidation number of the Carbon element if the +2 ....
