Combustion Reactions. Combustion reactions almost always involve oxygen in the form of O2, and are almost always exothermic, meaning they produce heat. Chemical reactions that give off light and heat and light are colloquially referred to as "burning."

These reactions are called as combustion reactions :-

  1. C + O2 → CO2  + Heat and light
  2. 2 C8 H18 + 25 O2 → 16 CO2 + 18 H2 O  + Heat and light
  3. CH3CH2OH + O2   → CO2 + H20 + Heat and light
