Oxygen helps in burning.Hydrogen burns itself.Then why is water (which is formed of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom) not helping in burning?

because when hydrogen and oxygen is mixed then they formed hydrogènoxide which is neutral thus it not help in burning
