Oxigen has 6 electrons in outermost shell so it required only 2 electron to complete its octate...and if 2 O is reach with each other then to complete octate, they share 2 electrons from each side...and formed double bond

Group 16 elements are the oxygen, selenium, tellurium, sulfur and polonium.

It mainly has collectively called as the chalcogens and present with ores of metals.

Oxygen is other 4 elements having the solids at room temperature and it mainly exist with the monoatomic atoms.

Oxygen are gas and exist with the diatomic molecules so that oxygen group 16 element with diatomic molecule.
