FORMATION....

Ozone at the higher levels of the atmosphere is a product of UV radiation acting on oxygen molecule. The higher energy UV radiation split apart some moleculer oxygen into free oxygen atoms. These atoms then combine with the molecular oxygen to form ozone.

IMPORTANCE....

✔️ It shields the earth surface from ultraviolet rays.
✔️ It also protect human body as the ultraviolet rays can cause skin cancer.
