P ( a 2 , 4 ) is the mid-point of the line segment joining points A (−6, 5) and B (−2, 3).

Coordinates of poit

P= -6+(-2)/2 , (- 8/2 , 8/2) = (-4)

P=(a/2 , 4) [Given]

a/2 = - 4

=> a = - 8

Thus the value of a is - 8
