Answer:Given : A ∆ABC in which P & Q are points on AB & AC such that AP=2cm, PB=4cm, AQ=3cm and QC=6cm.

To prove : BC=3PQ

Proof : AP+PB=AB

2cm+4cm=AB

AB=6cm

&. AQ+QC=AC

3cm+6cm=AC

AC=9cm

Now, AP/PB = AQ/QC (Both equal to 1/2).

Therefore by the converse of BPT, we have , PQ//BC.

Then, AP/AB=AQ/AC=PQ/BC=1/3

Therefore, PQ/BC=1/3

On cross multiplication, we get

3PQ=BC

Hence, BC=3PQ
